FULL HONEST REVIEW OF OLIVA HALE MAKEUP

Hey friends...

Today's blog post is a review on Olivia Hale makeup! Now im sure most of you have seen this brand floating around whilst you've been shopping in homebargins in the U.K. I cant be certain whether this brand of makeup is U.K only or is also a brand in America too, but we will soon find out!

BACKGROUND STORY!!!
So two weeks ago i went shopping and i only went into homebargins for some kitchen appliances and end up buying items which i didn't intend or need to buy. Don't you just hate that and walk out the shop and think to yourself WHY OH WHY did i just do that! Come on hands up who can resist the temptation of goodies when your walking around a shop. I know i cant just walk in a shop and not come out without anything to hand! Okay back to what i was suppose to say. So i end up walking down the aisle and i come across a few makeup products which i have never seen or heard of in homebargins before called Olivia Hale baring in mind this was 4 weeks ago.

I instantly got all the products which were available from the Olivia Hale range which was one lipstick in the shade antique rose, a lip gloss also in the same shade antique rose as well as a clear lip gloss and a kabuki sponge. On the shelf they also had a concealer in the shade dark, and a dark brown single eye shadow. So two weeks later i decided to go back because i had to buy toilet rolls and yes only toilet rolls. So walk in to homebargins and i see from the corner of my eye that the Olivia Hale range of makeup has expanded so i grasps the rest of the new products which were on the shelf. Here is a picture of all the items i picked up!

So now i have a full face of makeup to do a full review! Hell yes i was excited. And altogether it must of cost me around £15. Bargain or what!? OKAY lets get down to the serious chit chat of reviewing these product.

So firstly i set my base with the Olivia Hale primer. Baring in mind iv never used a primer before so didnt expect much of it. Honestly i dont really know what a primer is for!?. I'm just figuring it suppose to set your base before applying the makeup!? Do comment on my video and correct me if im wrong. The video will already be up on my YouTube channel by the time you read this post.

THE BASE OF MY FACE

So the primer was like a gel substance and was quite slippery when applying over my face. I did only use a pea size amount as i was unsure if my skin would react to it. Honestly i don't think it made any difference what so ever to my makeup after i applied everything. Unless iv used it wrong! I really should read up about what a primer is before using one or applying to skin! NOTE TO SELF...

Next, i applied foundation which was in the shade ivory lace. Now considering there color shades are limited i found this foundation to suit my skin type very well. Which i was shocked about. Again when i put it on the back of my hand i only used a small amount. It had a wet feel to it and was very peachy toned when i dabbed it on my face but, as i evened it out with my kabuki sponge it blended into my skin so evenly and was super lightweight and i didn't break the bank. Onto concealer there was only one shade and it was in the shade dark. Now i like my concealer quite lightweight and bright. Although it was light it was more yellow toned than what i hoped for so i wasn't happy with this concealer and i dont feel like it did anything. It seemed to fade away when patting it into my skin with my finger. I had no powder from Olivia Hale so i couldn't set my base properly which if it wasn't a struggle already having oily prone skin. My skin at this point was looking quite shiny.

BRONZER, BLUSHER,

So lets face it. I had no setting powder so i knew things were gonna go messy from here on. I picked up a bronzer now it was quite orange toned with a slight hint of a dark brown shade to it. I applied a little bit to give me some color and to brighten up my complexion but disaster strikes and it comes out on my skin way to orange. Let me just say i never use bronzer unless its one i can build up on my skin. This bronzer does not suit anyone with pale to fair skin. It would suit those with tanned or dark skin type. Now i picked up two blushers so i used both. They are both so pigmented and both gorgeous. One is a more blushed nude pink and the other is shimmery.

BROWS,EYES, LIPS

For my brows i just went in with the dark brown eye shadow which surprisingly looked pretty much my brow color. Onto the eyes i only had a dark brown eye shadow so i set my eyes with the nude pink blusher to give them some color and used the brown on my other crease. They both seem to slithery fade when i tried to blend. Next i curled my eyelashes and tried to attempt to do winged eyeliner. Before i say anything. If you haven't seem my video please do so you can try to even understand how frustrated i am with these two products i am about to write about. So obviously i love my winged eye looks but i couldn't even work with this tip of a brush. It was as straight as a pin. It hurt so much i couldn't even record it. So that was such a let down although it was waterproof which was good and moving on to mascara which was another let down. There was no difference to my eyelashes except the color. The mascara was very wet looking in the eyes and smudged so easily.

HONESTLY i dont know whether i picked up these two bad brushes or what but i definitely wont be using them again. The last two products left was the lipstick and lip gloss. These two are my favorite, they are so creamy and keeps your lips so hydrated. The color shade are pretty.

So what product did i like and didnt like in the Olivia hale makeup range:
LIKES
1.Foundation: good color match for fair skin. Super lightweight and evens out well
2.lipstick and lip gloss. Both are gorgeous pink nudes. I love how well both of these lip products go on. Very creamy and dont dry out your lips.
3. Blusher: out of the two blushers i would have to choose pink brick because of how shimmery it is and gives a shuttle glow on the cheeks. It could also be used as a highlighter and on the eyes. Which i used on my eyes in the end (:

DISLIKED
1. Eyeliner. The tip of the brush was so straight. It was too much effort and took my way too long to apply the product to my eyes. The brush was prickly and hurt. However it is waterproof and very black.
2. Mascara. There was no voluminous or lengthening when i applied the mascara, even when i curled my eyelashes. It is not waterproof and smudges very easily.
3. Concealer. Too yellow toned and fades away when trying to blend out
4. Eye Shadow. Although it matched my brow color well it didn't blend out so well on the eyelids. It faded way too quickly once i tried to blend.
5. Bronzer: this bronzer did not suit my skin type. it was too orange toned and was hard to blend out
6. Primer: i didnt seem much difference when i applied my makeup.

So my overall first impression on testing out Olivia Hale makeup. There was some good products that i will/would like to re purchase again in the future. But there were a lot more products that i was so let down by. I certainly wont be using or buying again!. Although, for a cheap brand there are plenty of makeup products to choose from however the shades are limited. This is my own opinion and im just going by how i felt when i used the products. I honestly removed all my makeup as soon as i finished filming the video. My face felt so dry and tacky.
