HELLO OTOBER -HALLOWEEN SEASON
HELLO OCTOBER
💀👻👽👀
💀👻👽👀
All things dark and spooky suspicious that go on throughout the nights. October is the season of dark nights and foggy mornings. its well known for the season of Halloween.
You cant even imagine how excited i was when i seen the Halloween stock in homebargins on Wednesday 6th September 2017. I grasped with both hands a few goodies while i was there. I was going to wait until October but i just couldn’t resist the temptation. I cant wait to go shopping again for more Halloween goodies.
Back when i was a child!
I always remember from a young age, i used to get dressed up as a witch in a black plastic bin bag and my mum always bought me a witches hat from the poundland or i used to make one. Now im 27 and i still love Halloween, just as much as bonfire night. I love preparing for these nights in advance and decorating the house with Halloween banners and balloons.
My Plans for Halloween
I decided for this year, i wanted to do something different because i live in Liverpool UK and not many people celebrate Halloween unless you have young children. Some neighbors may put up some decoration on their windows but honestly not many people go out and do the big Halloween decorating tradition.
So this Halloween is going to be super fun and magical, not only for myself but also for my daughter too who will be 18 months old who i also get to dress up and share my love for Halloween with her, reading her Halloween stories, taking her treat or treating around the street, playing games and dancing a lot.
Halloween is for children and i love watching Halloween films and eating a bunch of cakes and candy which im going to attempt to make myself and buy lots of Halloween decor (candles, banners, balloons, lights, pumpkins and lots more). I’ve already changed my banner on my youtube channel and twitter and my home screen on my PC. I get goosebumps even thinking of Halloween and everything leading up to the end of the month.
PREPARE IN ADVANCE FOR HALLOWEEN
Halloween has changed over the years, the shops stack the shelves with Halloween stock earlier each year, this year some of the shops (homebargins) have already had stock out since September. Im the type of person who always buy everything the last minute. NOOOO not this year, this year im preparing in advanced even if i do look silly buying Halloween stock since September.
This year i have prepared a checklist: Firstly, be open minded about what your going to buy or at least write a list of what to get. You can get any of these items from your local supermarkets like asda, homebargins, poundland, BnM, and Tesco. Most of the items i have listed are for my preference reference list but it could give you some ideas too,
HALLOWEEN ESSENTIALS:
Whether you are having a party or just decorating the house up it always fun to have balloons, banners and buntings which are an essential when it comes to Halloween. If you are on a budget you can use your imagination and make your own decorations out of paper, googly eyes, or whatever you can think off.
DECOR:
Halloween lights, stickers, pumpkin and miniature decor to spruce up a few rooms in the house to give that extra spooky touch.
FILL THE CUPBOARD:
Food, cakes, sweets, drinks. Now this is where your imagination comes into action. You can make your own and be creative or you can be buy from your local supermarkets if you dont have time to make your own. Dont the trick or tr-eaters. This year i am going to brace it and be creative and use my own initiative to make my own cakes and drinks. All Halloween themed of course.
MAKE A DEN:
Now this is optional. But this is my favorite part about preparing for Halloween. Making a den out of a clear net or sheets which you have lying around the house and decorate it using your Halloween decor.
COSTUMES:
There are so many options and you can decide what you want to wear for Halloween, or you can get the scissors out and ask a guardian to make you a costume.
GAMES AND FILMS:
Halloween is not Halloween if you dont play games or watch scary films. You can buy some stencil booklets for your children to colour in, you can get a paper masher pumpkin and put candy in and tie it up in an open wide space letting the kids take turns to it open it up. You can also attempt to put some Halloween music on and have a good boogie with your friends. Then, when the kids start to settle down, go and snuggle up together in your blankets and pick out your favorite film to watch, whether its a old classic on the TV or a new one on Netflix.
👄😈
I hope this blog post has helped you to plan for your Halloween of 2017. Remember, you dont have to spend a lot of money to decorate your house, use your imagination and be creative which is much more fun to do on your own or with friends. Let me know if this post has given you any inspirational and also let me know what things you buy for Halloween. Whether its new or from previous Halloweens.
